91X 91.3 FM aka CJLX-FM is a campus radio owned by Loyalist College Radio Inc. and based in Belleville, ON. The student station was launched in 1992 after the approval of CRTC on Nov 13, 1990. 92.3 MHz was the proposed frequency and a low-power 50-watt transmitter would operate from the campus. Hard rock format was the choice of Loyalist which previously had to work with two closed circuit stations. Initial funds for the establishment of the CJLX-FM were provided by Quinte Broadcasting Co. Ltd.

However it was decided that after the launch of the radio operational costs expenditure would be met through grants from administration, fundraisers and limited advert revenue. Volunteers and students taking journalism courses would manage the programming with the support and training from seniors and teachers. CJLX was launched on Nov 30, 1992 after month long signal tests. In Oct 8, 2004 frequency was approved to switch to 91.3 MHz and wattage was incremented to 3,400 and was operational by the Oct 2005. CRTC renewed the license of the radio on May 15, 2007 for a seven-year-term until Aug 31, 2014. With restricted ad-show 91X broadcasts blend of Alt-rock with classical, Folk, Reggae, Metal Rock, Blues and others for its audiences.
