Seaside FM 105.9 (CFEP-FM) launched in 2002 is an Easy listening radio intended to serve the Eastern Passage, a suburban community in Halifax Regional Municipality (HRM). CRTC on December 20, 2001 granted yes to an application by CRTC for a Type B English language not-for-profit FM to operate in Easter Passage. The community driven and managed station Seaside 105.9 FM would be a low power radio with a 50 watts transmitter and use a frequency of 94.7 MHz. It was agreed upon by the parties that Easy Listening would make 80% of the music programing in a total of 126 on-air hours/week. The traditional and contemporary east coast music would also be a part of the channel’s programing. In 2002 Seaside 105.9 CFEP-FM officially singed on air.
