CBAF-FM-1 102.3 Saint John is a French relay broadcast relay station of CBAF-FM Moncton, a part of Ici Radio-Canada Première serving exclusively the Atlantic Canada. In 1973 La Premiere Chaine repeater was given approval by CRTC for Fredericton-Saint John area. On October 15, 1975 the relay transmitter was formally launched as CBAF-14-FM. The call-letters were changed from CBAF-14 to CBAF-FM-1 on September 1, 1989. ERP of the CBC owned transmitter was decreased from 100,000 watts to 84,000 watts after the permissions by CRTC on August 21, 2001. The license of the satellite along with other rebroadcast facilities was updated by CRTC on May 28, 2013, validating it until August 31, 2018. The news, talk, information and cultural content of main Moncton channel is rebroadcasted by the radio.
