CBC Radio 2 101.7 FM Thunder Bay, owned by Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, is an Adult Album Alternative radio established in 1984. CBQT-FM is the sibling of the station broadcasting Jazz and Classical hits. CBQ-FM first singed on air on Aug 13, 1984 on a frequency of 101.7 MHz using an ERP of 23,500 w. The programming was taken by from the CBL-FM Toronto. The CBC Stereo Network was rechristened as CBC Radio Two on Sep 1, 1997. CRTC renewed the license of the CBQ on May 28, 2013 until Aug 31, 2018.
