CBC Radio One Kitchener-Waterloo (CBLA-FM-2) launched in 1999 as a booster transmitter of CBLA-FM in Paris and operates in Kitchener-Waterloo. Canadian Broadcasting Corporation vowing to replace CBL 740 AM with FM transmitters. The frequencies for Toronto, Paris and Crystal Beach were 99.1, 89.1 and 100.3 MHz respectively. CBLA-FM-2 was launched on July 17, 1998. The English language FM broadcasting in Paris would rebroadcast the content of the CBC Radio One and also produce local programming of 12.5 hours for Kitchener-Waterloo. Local content would include local headline news, weather forecasts, sports updates, interview, documentaries and more.

In April 2013 the Canadian commission allowed the CBC to delete CBLA-2 Paris to eventually get replaced by CBLA-FM-2 89.1 FM. 5,000 would be the ERP and license of the station was validated to Aug 31, 2019.
