CHHA 1610 AM branded as Voces Latinas launched on Nov 25, 2004 is a station owned by San Lorenzo Latin American Community Centre (centro comunitario san lorenzo). Spanish community radio is rather multilingual with content in Portuguese, Tagalog, English and Italian. Father Hernan Astudillo received a license on April 17, 2013 for a Type B community radio that would broadcast on a frequency of 1610 kHz using and ERP of 1,000 w. CHSL 1610 started its test signal in 2004 using a low power of 250 w. CHSL 1610 was finally launched on Nov 21, 2004 using an effective radiated power of 1,000 w. Call letters were changed to CHHA in 2005. The change in authorized contours was not allowed by commission (CRTC) in Aug 2010 but was granted in July 2011; after amends the new wattage for day and nighttime was 6,250 watts.
