CJLR-FM-3 88.1 FM Prince Albert is a MBC Radio (Missinipi Broadcasting Corporation) that serves the audiences in Prince Alberta as a repeater of network’s flagship channel CJLR based in La Ronge, Saskatchewan. The main channel CJLR-FM La Ronge was approved by CRTC on April 27, 1989 the MBC radio would air using a frequency of 89.9 MHz and ERP of 10 watts. The aim of the station is to persevere and promote the languages, culture and heritage of Aboriginal nations spread in Saskatchewan. CJLR-FM-3 on 88.1 MHz was launched in Prince Albert after permissions granted by CRTC on April 13, 1994 with an Effective radiated power of 50 watts. The authorized contours for the station were changed, incrementing the ERP from 50 to 249 watts in February 2005. The power of the station was once again increased with the ERP being increased to 49,000 watts; now the A1 class channel which once was a low power unprotected station became Class B broadcaster. The content hosted by the station includes varied nature programs produced largely in English with Cree and Dene involved. Country, Aboriginal, Rock and Pop make the music segments of the MBC Network Radio. Audiences on the official site can have live radio stream, MBC News & TV, participate in contests, and make song requests, give suggestions and find a lot more.
