KiSS 100.5 Soo launched in 1964 is a Hot AC station owned by Rogers Media. CJQM-FM, CIRS and CHUR-FM are the sister stations of the radio. The launch of the station goes back to 1947 when CBC approved Grant Hyland’s application to setup an FM channel: CJIC-FM; RCA would work as the transmitter. In 1949 the station first signed on air from its studios and offices in Windsor Hotel at 678 Queen Street East and became sister of CJIC-AM in 1934. The company was incorporated as Hyland Radio TV Ltd. in 1954 and the FM left the airs in the same year. It remerge on May 5, 1964 using the same old frequency: 100.5 MHz and ERP of 36,000 w.

The ownerships were changed to Huron Broadcasting Ltd. and Gilder Broadcasting Ltd. in 1976 and 1977. CJIC became CHAS-FM in 1977. ERP was increased to 6,700 watts in April 1979. Offices and studios were relocated to 426 Bruce Street in Feb 1980. Telemedia Communications Inc. purchased the channel in 1985. In 1992 Telemedia entered a Local Management Agreement with Pelmorex. Standard Radio Inc. acquired the CHAS-FM on April 19, 2002 to sale it to Rogers Broadcasting Ltd. CRTC renewed the license on Dec 21, 2012 until Aug 31, 2019. The branding was changed from EZ Rock to KISS FM in Aug 2013.
