Retro 105.9 DCG-FM established in 1992 is a Classic Hits and OPM format radio in Mega Manila areas owned by Bright Star Broadcasting Network. It’s More Than Just Music… It’s A Lifestyle! is the slogan. Initially proposed as a Pinoy Rock Music station the radio later switched its format to Top 40 and electronic music. LA 105.9, the branding of the channel remained with it until Nov 26, 2000 when it was closed. After three off-air years, DWLA-FM resurfaced as Blazin 105.9 on Oct 20, 2003. At that time the Retro was owned by Empire Entertainment and Dino Chua. Rap, Hip Hop and R&B dominated the format. Blazin 105.9 was the only in country to air NBA games of 2004-2005 season courtesy Solar Sports.

After a brief halt from Jan to July 2007, the Retro was relaunched with mainstream rock as its new format as a child station of RJ 100.3 FM. Low power transmission was bettered to 25,000 on course. Hi-Definition Radio Inc. made an experiment (Radio High 105.9) on July 1, 2011 by buying the airtime for a Smooth Jazz format, it didn’t work and Francis Lumen, the owner of Hi-Definition further leased the airtime to another party. DCG Radio-TV Network took over the operations through airtime sublease and launched Retro 105.9 DCG FM on March 28, 2014. The new changes paid off and DCG FM garnered success in a short span of time. Terrestrial broadcast is limited to 19 hours in 2017, however, broadcasts are kept floating through online stream. You can enjoy the biggest hits form 90’s, 80’s, 70’s and beyond featuring bands and artists like Beatles, Jackson, Prince, George, Michael, Beach Boys, Elton, Madonna and others on Retro online.
